New Internship Program Launched by The O'Donnell School of Public Health's Health Policy and Economics Program

The O’Donnell School of Public Health, Health Policy and Economics Department, under the leadership of Dr. Tami Gurley and Project Lead Tynaje Thomas, has launched an internship program aimed at offering students' diverse exposure to public health and economics research. The program emphasizes the development of technical, communication, and research skills, while also providing opportunities for students to contribute to ongoing research projects led by Dr. Tami Gurley.

In this initiative, Tynaje Thomas has played a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring two talented high school seniors, Aniya Jain and Anita Prasittipol, through a comprehensive Capstone-like project. This project has enabled them to delve into their passion areas, focusing on female entrepreneurship and women’s health. Tynaje facilitated their exploration by providing a range of options, from literature reviews to policy briefs, allowing both students to author research artifacts that are both timely and relevant in today’s research landscape.

Aniya and Anita have each produced research and policy papers that demonstrate their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication. Their contributions are invaluable, and we are thrilled to be a part of their academic journeys. We eagerly anticipate the impactful work that both Aniya and Anita will continue to pursue in the future.
